Immediately after scheduling your visit appointment, please visit our main office at Avalon Medical Group, 2nd Floor, 2410 East Avalon Ave, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661 to have your labs drawn. Our staff will direct you to our on-site lab.

Plan for Individualized Treatment

Plan for your initial visit to take longer than a typical doctor’s visit. Dr. Parker will be getting to know you and creating an individualized treatment plan, and this takes time.

If you are unable to make your scheduled new patient appointment, please call at least 48 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule. We have a significant volume of patients who are waiting to get appointments, and we need to keep all available slots open.

We are a medical weight loss practice and Dr. Parker is board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. We treat obesity as a medical condition. We accept all major commercial insurance.

Dr. Parker is board certified in obesity medicine and treats weight-related medical conditions. He treats obesity as a chronic, progressive disease. He creates an individualized treatment plan for every single patient using comprehensive history taking and labs. Every patient’s treatment plan varies. It may involve adjusting current medications, using new weight loss medications, and prescribing diet and lifestyle modifications. These are just a few examples. Not only is the program safe for weight loss, but the goal is to improve medical problems associated with obesity such as: arthritis, diabetes and insulin resistance, hypertension, sleep apnea, cholesterol problems, GERD, chronic swelling/edema, and chronic fatigue.
Absolutely. We are a non-surgical practice but manage pre-op and post-op metabolic surgery patients. If you are not losing weight or gaining weight back after surgery, we can help you.
We offer OPTIFAST, a full meal replacement program of shakes, soups, and bars. OPTIFAST is one of the most respected meal replacement systems on the market. You can read more about this rapid and safe weight loss approach on the OPTIFAST website.
You will be responsible for your copay, if any, at the time of visit. After each visit, we will bill your insurance for the visit. Any additional costs will be dependent on your individual deductible and insurance coverage.
